HESJE-Mabel late of Birch Hills, SK passed away on January 10, 2011 in Birch Hills at the age of 89 years. It is with great sadness and regret we announce the passing of our beloved mother. She will be greatly missed and will be lovingly remembered by her husband and companion of 64 years: Tannes Hesje; two children: Karen (Darrell) Shaw of Calgary and Doug (Halina) Hesje of Prince Albert; four grandchildren: Tammy (Dean) Thompson of Birch Hills, Trevor (Tenille) Hesje of Brancepeth, Joclyn (Darren) Robson of Cold Lake and Trenton Shaw of Calgary; seven great grandchildren: April, Megan, Madison & Cole Thompson (Tammy and Dean), Nicolas & Jacob Hesje (Trevor and Tenille) and Maya Robson (Jocelyn and Darren); as well as several nieces and nephews. Mabel was predeceased by her parents Josephine Fjeld (Gunderson) and Halvor Fjeld; her sister Pearl (Fjeld) Atcheson and her brothers Raymond and Arnold Fjeld. Teaching Bible Club, Vacation Bible School and Sunday school were a big part of Mom’s involvement in her Church and community. Up until last year she played her guitar in Sunday morning worship services. She took great pride in growing gardens and loved to cook meals using her home-grown produce. Mom always looked forward to visiting the farm, spending time with family, and baking cakes to celebrate family birthdays. We give our sincere thanks and gratitude to all the nurses and staff from Victoria Hospital, Jubilee Lodge and Birchview nursing home for their excellent loving care for Mom over this past year. In memory of Mable Hesje, charitable donation may be made to the donor of your choice. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 1:30 pm in Lake Park Baptist Church, Birch Hills with Rod Gabriel officiating. Interment Winton Cemetery.
