She married Carleton on January 22, 1946 and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946 where she resided in Midale, SK for one year. She moved to Prince Albert in 1947. In 1951 she joined the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion serving as President for two years and Zone Representative District No. 5 for four years. In 1988 she took over as visitor to the veterans in hospitals and nursing homes. Pauline was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with the Palm Leaf for her work with the veterans. Mom loved to sing and was a member of the legionnaire singers. She was a faithful worshipper and worked for St. David's Church where she held offices in both Bishop Nunham ACW and the Chancellor Guild. Her granddaughters were very special to her and she was proud of their scholastic achievements as well as their involvement in music and art. Mom was also very proud of her Welsh heritage and visited Wales as often as possible. The highlights of those trips were the special visits with her brother Peter and his family, as well as the reunions held with friends she made while working in the war office during the war. Mom was also involved in the community and will be remembered for her friendly personality and sense of humour. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 17 at St. David's Anglican Church, 500-24th St. East, Prince Albert. Reverend Father Norbert Haukenfrers will officiate. A private family interment will take place in the spring at the Garden of Christus, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. It is the family's request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the College of Emmanuel and St. Chad Saskatoon, or to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca. Officers and members of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary will confer veterans honours. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Leslie Sully, Funeral Director.
