Elizabeth Smith

Elizabeth (Beth/Jennie) Jenner Smith late of Prince Albert passed away on February 9, 2011 at the age of 90. She was born in 1920 the only child of Charles and Lois Quayle of Briarlea. She attended Briarlea School and was a member of the Junior Grain Club. She met George Smith while attending a provincial club competition. Beth went on to the national competition in Toronto. They were married in 1945 and farmed near Corning until 1986. She also drove school bus for 29 years and worked at the Corning Co-op and was involved in 4H and Golden West Kitchenettes. After retiring they moved back to Briarlea. Beth was predeceased by George in 2007 and is survived by her four children, Charles (Carol) Smith of Prince Albert, Amy (Albert) Frey of Red Deer, Lila (Ray) Willis of Prince Albert and Laurie (John) Hozempa of Gray; 11 grandchildren Sherry (Geoff) Bishop, Amber (Devon) Kirkland, Steven (Nicole) Frey, Alison (Bobby) Moreira, Erin Frey (Sergio Correia), Terri (Daniel) Gareau, Braden Willis, Rachelle Willis (Daniel Blouin), Nicole Hozempa, Chad Hozempa and Ashley Hozempa; also her great-grandchildren Ella and Aaron Kirkland, Alexander Bishop, Nathan and Alyssa Frey, Aidan and Connor Moreira, Tessa Correia, Maya and Liam Gareau, and Misha Blouin. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Dennis Serfas, Director Spiritual Care, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to Kinsmen Telemiracle or Charity of Donor’s Choice.
