FITCH Mrs. Cheryl Lynn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Lynn Fitch (nee Mayer). Cheryl passed away peacefully on February 28, 2011 surrounded by family at the Shellbrook Union Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband Allan; two sons Chase Pokol (Jenna) and Josh Pokol (Jamie Shail); brothers Gordon Mayer (Sharon) and Garry Mayer (Lynn), stepchildren Brock Fitch (Crystal Young) and Kelsey Fitch (Jory Segberg),Mother in-Law Eileen Fitch, Sister in-Law Penny Fitch-Davis; (Gordon Davis) and numerous aunts, uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends. She was predeceased by her Mother Hildegard Mayer (nee Sommerfeld); Father William Mayer; baby sister; and Father in-Law Delbert Fitch.
Cheryl was born June 2, 1960 in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. She attended W. P. Sandin School in Shellbrook before moving to Saskatoon in Grade 10 where she graduated from Evan Hardy Collegiate. Cheryl excelled in many sports including Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field. Cheryl’s love of math and sciences led her to a career in computers where she worked as an IT Technician in the Sask. Valley and Sask. Rivers School Divisions. She enjoyed many activities including snowmobiling, camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family. She was an excellent cook and was well known within the community for her special dishes. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, always putting the needs of her family before her own. Cheryl was a very strong woman, having overcome many health concerns throughout her short life. A fighter to the end, Cheryl was a role model to all who knew her. Until the end she held on to her sharp wit and great sense of humor, as she shared jokes and one liners with many of her visitors. A Celebration of life ceremony will be held at the Foxdale Hall at 4pm on Saturday March 5, 2011 in Foxdale, Saskatchewan for close friends and family. Donations can be made on Cheryl’s behalf to the Shellbrook Hospital Fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Emailed condolences sent to www.beaulacfuneralhome.com will be forwarded to the family.
