Lynn Daniels

Lynn Daniels passed away, with her family at her side, at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Lynn was born in Prince Albert at the Holy Family Hospital. Her elementary school days were in MacDowall and she later attended high school in Prince Albert. Lynn went onto have a long and successful career in corrections. Her first position was in the Pine Grove Correctional Centre for women in Prince Albert. She later went to work at the Drumheller Penitentiary. After spending a number of years there, she was transferred to regional head quarters in Saskatoon. Her most recent position was in the Boden Institution in Alberta. In March 2010, while still working at Boden, Lynn was diagnosed with lung cancer. In November 2010 she moved back to Prince Albert. Lynn’s priority was her family. She enjoyed spending time with them fishing, camping and travelling. She was always available to her children; to talk, to listen, to help and advice, but mostly to love them. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece and friend. To many, especially her children, she was their “Best Friend” and will be dearly missed. Lynn will long be remembered for her strength of character, her sense of humour, her willingness to help a friend and her ability to always make things better. Lynn is survived by her children Richard “Rick” Quon of Red Deer, AB, Corinne “Frankie” Webster (Ward McKay) of Birch Hills, SK, Louise LaPlante of Innisfail, AB, Lorn LaPlante of Alberta, Amanda Daniels (Clifford Robbie) of Lloydminster, SK; her grandchildren Terry Van Holland of Chilliwak, BC, James Webster of Birch Hills, SK, Chantell LaPlante of Innisfail, AB, Nathanial Bear of Saskatoon, SK, Alexis Jabour of Saskatoon, SK, Lorne Webster of Rosetown, SK, Taylor Rousell of Innisfail, AB and Sabastian Bear of Saskatoon, SK; her mother Vera Kessler of Prince Albert, SK; her sister Shirley Kessler of Prince Albert, SK and several of her uncles, aunts and cousins. She was predeceased by her father William “Bill” Kessler; her grandparents Albert and Emma Dallman and some of her uncles, aunts and cousins. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 581 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Gerry Wortman officiating. Interment will be held at Deer Park Cemetery, located between MacDowall and Red Deer Hill. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0V9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
