Mary Hessdorfer

Mary passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born October 1, 1927 in Fish Creek, SK to Georgina and Norbert Henry. Mary was the last surviving child of thirteen. Predeceased by her husband Henry on October 11, 2005; her parents Georgina and Norbert and her twelve brothers and sisters; Henry’s parents Andrew and Delphine (nee Parenteau) Hessdorfer. Mary is survived by her daughter Agnes (Russel) Brandrick; her 5 grandchildren Michael, Jason (Tabitha), Kristen (John), Jamie (Kandis) and Tyler; her 9 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law; her numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mary along with her husband Henry were founding members of St. Michael Parish. She was very active in the parish and CWL. Mary was always there to lend a helping hand be it with meals, caring for the sick or nurturing her family and friends. Her devotion to God and the sanctity of her marriage vows gave her the strength to care for Henry for 24 years after his stroke (12 years at home and 12 years at the Herb Bassett Care Home) and continued to help Agnes raise her family. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, St. Michael Roman Catholic Church. Margaret Ferchuk will officiate. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 16 from St. Michael Roman Catholic Church – 1505 – 13th Street West by Father Travis Myrheim. It is the family’s request that donations be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation. Interment will take place in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
