1922 – 2011
Alma Marie (nee Gaudet) Chicoine passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 11, 2011. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14 from River Park Memorial Chapel – 301 River Street West. Sister Renée Buliard will officiate. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 15 from Sacred Heart Cathedral – 1401 – 4th Avenue West by Father Maurice Fiolleau. Alma was born on February 13, 1922 in St. Isidore de Bellevue, SK. She attended school in St. Isidore de Bellevue and married Raymond Chicoine on October 30, 1945. They farmed in Hoey from 1945 to 1951 then moved to Prince Albert and lived there until 1966 when they moved to Calgary. In 1972 they moved back to Prince Albert. Alma worked very diligently as a chambermaid in Prince Albert and Calgary. Her greatest love was fishing and camping in the great outdoors. Their cabin at Weyakwin was “home”. She was the only woman we knew who could cook for 30 people, never miss a hand of cards and make it all appear effortless. Alma is survived by her loving children Eugene (Donna) Chicoine of Langham and their children and grandchildren Carla Chicoine (Punch Archer), Cathy Chicoine (Jason St. Clair), Grace & Sophia St. Clair, Emile (Linda) Chicoine of Saskatoon, Celine (Alfred) Beaulac of Chestermere, AB and their children and grandchildren Janette (Pierre) Plesa, Maté & Charlotte Plesa, Neal (Christine) Beaulac, Alyssa & Austin Beaulac, Martin (Sharon) Chicoine of Saskatoon and their children Keith (Amy Lipinski) Chicoine, Philip Chicoine, Paul (Brenda) Chicoine of Prince Albert and their children Melodee (Alan Dearing) Chicoine, David Chicoine, Brad (Kerri) Chicoine, Raymond (Aarron) Chicoine and their daughter Alexis Chicoine, Michel (Michelle) Chicoine of Prince Albert, Breanne, Stephanie and Cristopher Chicoine; her sister Leona Brady; her in-laws Rene Rabut, Margaret Gaudet, Fernande Favreau, Patsy Gaudet, Rita Perreault, Claire Tyson, Fern (Bob Ethier), John Gareau, Muriel Chicoine; her numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Laura & Eugene Gaudet; her husband Raymond Chicoine; her grandchildren Alma & Alice Beaulac; her sisters Malvina (Alex) April, Anna Rabut, Armancia (Lucien) Joubert, Resina Favreau, Rosa Chartrand (Elzear); her brothers Albert Gaudet, Romeo Gaudet, Andrea (Claudette) Gaudet, Raoul (Jeanne) Gaudet, Edouard Gaudet; her brother-in-law Roy Brady; Raymonds 8 brothers and sisters. Interment will take place in the Garden of Gethsemane, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or have a mass request in her honour.
