It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Fay (Eunice) McMillan on April 20, 2011. Fay was born September 24, 1924 at Oakner, MB to Annie and William Francis. She attended Normal school in Winnipeg and began her teaching career in a one room school house teaching grades one through twelve. Fay married Jack McMillan in October, 1947 and in 1951 they moved to Prince Albert. They had three children, Wendy, Glenn and Susan. When Jack passed away in 1966 Fay returned to teaching. She taught at Connaught, Vincent Massey and retired from Vickers in 1986. Music was a large part of Mom’s life. She played in a dance band for many years, and sang in the Wesley United Church choir and most recently played the organ at Sunny Days Care Home. She was a member of the UCW – Vesper unit and a long time member of the Prince Albert Royal Purple. Fay is survived by her children, Wendy Graham, Glenn (Sandy) McMillan and Susan (Greg) Sorokan; grandchildren Corey (Mary) Graham, Cody (Jenn) and Lacey McMillan, Cole and Jenna Sorokan; her sister Dora Gray; her sister-in-law Jean McMillan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jack McMillan; her special friend John Mallo; her son-in-law Roland Graham; her sisters Grace Francis and Muriel Frazer; her brothers-in-law Wally Gray, Jack Fleming, Roy McMillan and Mac Frazer; her sister-in-law Pearl Fleming; her niece Judy Stewart and her parents Annie and William Francis. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Wesley United Church, 65 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Tony Thompson officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Royal Purple of Canada Fund for Children, 200 – 2629 – 29th Avenue, Regina, SK S4S 2N9.
