Lydia Josephine “Del” Sundbo
Del was born in Prince Albert on October 13, 1922 and passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2011 with her children at her side.
She is survived by her three children Linda, Terry (Lorrie) and Bruce (Gloria); her granddaughter Renai Levesque; her grandson Ryan Smith; two great grandchildren Linkin and Braylene Chow; her brother Carl Meyers and her sister Margaret Berrows.
Del was predeceased by her husband Orvel; her brothers Zigmund, William and Edward Meyers; her sister Emsie Thomsen and her son-in-law Phillip Levesque.
Del was dedicated to her family, running a smooth and efficient household. She was very involved in the church, teaching Sunday school and as a member of Bethany Circle Ladies Aid. Del was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and knitting, and did a lot of baking much to her children’s delight, especially Bruce’s. The family spent many happy summers at Waskesiu. In retirement, she and Orvel travelled, they were snowbirds in Arizona and visited many places around the world, enjoying Asia and Europe. As time and health declined, Del resided at Pineview Terrace Lodge and lived out her days under the watchful eyes of the professional and very caring staff.
A Graveside Service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Marianne Turcotte, Funeral Director.
