Reginald “Ross” Bateman
1939 – 2011
Ross was born and raised in Saskatoon and lived there until 2003 at which time he and his wife, Elenor, retired to Melfort, SK. Ross was employed by the City of Saskatoon for 39 years and nine months, retiring in April of 1999. He had a love for wood carving, fishing, spending time at the cottage at Emma Lake and holidaying at their home in Phoenix, Arizona. He will be sadly missed by his coffee buddies.
Surviving is his loving wife, Elenor (Armstrong); cousins Shirley (Bob) Bentley of Delisle, SK, Dr. Ken (Dixie) MacLeod of Delta, BC and their families and many other cousins; also their God daughter Lindsay Scherr of Saskatoon; Brothers-in-law Murry (Carole) Armstrong, Earl (Gloria) Armstrong; nephew Doug (Michelle) all of Melfort, SK.
He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Ileene Bateman and his mother and father-in-law Myrtle and Leslie Armstrong of Melfort.
In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make a donation to a charity of their choice in memory of Ross.
The Funeral Service for Reginald will be Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. James Presbyterian Church with Pastor Dave MacPherson officiating. Interment to follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetary, Melfort, SK.
