Hilda Holfeld
(February 13, 1933 – June 25, 2011)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Hilda passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011.
Hilda was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB and later moved to Saskatchewan. Hilda spent most of her adult life in Prince Albert. The most important part of Hilda’s world was her family. She loved spending time with all of them, but she cherished the time she spent with her three grandsons. She enjoyed five pin bowling and was greatly disappointed when her health problems prevented her from continuing to participate. Hilda also enjoyed the bingo hall, sometimes playing, but mostly she volunteered to work at the bingos for many different organizations. Hilda enjoyed people, she had a quick wit, a ready smile and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Dale (Debbie) Holfeld, Roland Holfeld and Kim (Mike) Houle; her three grandsons Bradley Holfeld, Darcy Holfeld (Kate Whittleton) and Dallas Houle; her four brothers Larry (Helene) Wieler, Ernie (Deanna) Wieler, Henry (Susanne) Wieler and Tom (Danielle) Wieler as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by: her husband Otto Holfeld; her parents Marie and John Wieler; a sister-in-law Ruth Wieler and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on the Holfeld side of the family.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 4 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Reverend Rick Johnson will officiate. Interment will take place in the Garden of the Old Rugged Cross, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca.
It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank the Prince Albert Home Care Nurses, the staff at the Chemo Unit at the Victoria Hospital, the staff of the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic for all they did for mom. We would also like to say a very special thank you to Barbara, Tom and Danielle and Larry and Helene Wieler. We appreciate everything you did for mom, more than words can ever say.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Colette Kaziolka, Funeral Director, River Park Memorial Chapel, Prince Albert, SK (306) 764-2727
