Eloise Christina Varga
(August 9, 1942 – August 11, 2011)
Eloise was born and raised in Saskatoon where she and Dennis met and later married in 1962. She became a teacher but after they moved to Prince Albert, Eloise devoted herself to raising her daughters Linda, Judy, and Chrissie. Though P.A. was meant to be one year experience, Eloise and Dennis became an integral part of their schools, church, and community over the next 45 years.
Eloise had many and varied interests, reading widely and constantly. She was passionate about her garden, spending time with her family and was a compassionate, caring friend to a wide circle of friends. Her faith was a central pillar of her life and she was very actively involved with the church. Her grandchildren were the delight of her life and she cherished every moment spent in their company.
Eloise worked as the Substitute Teacher Coordinator of the Prince Albert School District for over 30 years. She was remarkable in her capacity to empathize and understand both the needs of the system and the people who worked within it. We will hold Eloise in our hearts forever.
Eloise will be lovingly remembered by her husband Dennis; her daughters Linda (Dave) Slingsby & their daughter Chelsey; Judy (Todd) Bell & their daughters Kirsten & Jaden and Chrissie (Tim) McNab & their children Lachlan & Arawyn; her sister Francie (Paul) Hamilton & their daughter Emma and her sister-in-law Kathy (Donald) Schmidtke. She was predeceased by her grandson Brenden Slingsby and her parents Sam and Bernice Jansen.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at St. David’s Anglican Church, 500 – 24th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with The Reverend Norbert Haukenfrers officiating.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
