The family immigrated to Canada in 1914 and settled in the Whittome area. She attended school at Belgrave and Prescott. She worked on the farm and when she was 18 took over the mothering of her siblings when their mother died at a young age.
On June 25, 1929 she married Jim Flett and they had 3 children: Evelyn, Harold & Lorna. Dagmar loved to cook, sew and do handwork. She had several jobs involving these skills. She moved to British Columbia for a while, but always considered Saskatchewan home, so returned to spend her last years.
Dagmar was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Over 80 Club. She was very proud of the book they made “Goose Grease & Turpentine”. For the last 12 years she was in Nirvana and Parkland Place.
Dagmar leaves to cherish her memory, her children and grand children; Evelyn: Cheryl (Bill) & John; Harold (Judy): Shawn (Janet), Ryan & Scott; Lorna (Vern): Lynn (Lindsay), Brenda (Barry), Jason (Lorinda), Marcy (Mark) and 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grand children; her sister Emma Whittome; brother Clarence Nygard; brother-in-law Wally Rude and numerous nieces & nephews. Dagmar was predeceased by Baby Nygaard, Clara, Chris (Gladys), Anna (Gus), Peter (Edna), Tag (Gladys), Henry (Marg), Emelie (Eric), Hilda, brother-in-law Steve Whittome & grandson Joe Hourie.
