Opal June (Brunton) Savard
(January 23, 1930 – October 18, 2011)
SAVARD, Opal, late of Prince Albert, passed away peacefully in Prince Albert on October 18, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Opal loved Prince Albert and over her years could be seen bicycling and walking to enjoy her hometown. Opal was born on January 23, 1930.
She was predeceased by her husband Rene in 2005. Being part of a large family Opal was also predeceased by her brothers Wes and Ed (Ruby) and also by her sisters Florence (Orville) Shea, Aileen (Joe) Hrabovski, Irene (Mike) Sandyke, Gladys Brunton, Eva (Jim) McMath and Idella (Patrick) Ratchford. A brother Gordon left home at a young age. Opal is survived by her sister Gail (Andrew) Markowski, two brothers Elmer (Louise) Brunton and Douglas (Inga) Brunton and by many nephews and nieces who love her.
Opal will always be remembered for her kind and gentle personality. Her family thanks Doctor Moodliar and the staff on the 4th and 5th floors at Victoria Union Hospital for their excellent care.
A funeral service will be held for Opal at the Prince Albert Church of the Nazarene at 2 P.M. on Monday, October 24th, 2011. Her brother Elmer will officiate.
