Jack Allan Mann
(April 26, 1928 – December 7, 2011)
Jack was born April 26,1928 in Saskatoon, to Jim and Myrtle Mann of Beatty. He passed away December 7, 2011 in Melfort Union Hospital.
Jack grew up on the farm and took his schooling in Beatty. He started farming at a young age and farmed for many years. He quite farming and rented his land to the V & M Farms, due to ill health, but still had a keen interest in the farm. Jack married Mary (May) Fisher (nee Gordon) on November 24, 1956. They went to Weslaco, Texas for their honeymoon and stayed the rest of the winter. They did travel to Florida, Arizona and California but went back to Weslaco for many more years.
Jack loved going over the border to Mexico, and talked constantly about going back. Jack loved horses and rode to school on 'Nipper'. He started driving pony chuckwagons in 1957 and drove for many years, and suffered many accidents. He did drive in the Houston Astrodome, the Huntsville Prison Rodeo and many other places in Texas and Canada. He also drove large chuckwagons at shows put on by the late Cliff Claggett in a few places in Texas. Jack loved visiting with people whether it was with the gas attendant when travelling or with the patrons and the waitresses at the local A & W or Ken's Cafe.
Jack was predeceased by his Mother and Dad. He is survived by his wife May of 55 years, his stepson Blaine Fisher and his wife Kathy, their daughters Lisa and Steve Chang and their children Sari and Terruya; Catrina and Pascal Diard and their children Kelsey and Adam; son Aaron and his son Brandon. He is also survived by his Aunt Lila Dore and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There was no funeral at Jack's request. He is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Melfort, SK.
