Marguerite Julia Johnson (nee Heroux)
(December 19, 1913 – December 20, 2011)
Marguerite passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home, at the age of 98.
She was born in Little Falls, Minnesota on December 19, 1913 to Eugene and Adelaide (Stumpf) Heroux. They immigrated to a homestead east of Domremy in 1921. Marguerite married Newell Johnson on January 28, 1943. They farmed until retiring to Domremy in 1991.
She was predeceased by her husband Newell in 2007; her mother in 1950; her father in 1966 and 8 brothers and sisters. Marguerite is survived by her sons Gary (Hilda) Johnson of Saskatoon and Clifton (Audrey) Johnson of Prince Albert; her daughter Brenda (Ron) Jobin of Domremy; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; brother Clarence and sisters Marie, Joan and Alice.
Mom loved her grandchildren. She made great meals and desserts. She enjoyed her garden, playing fastball (catcher), fishing, curling and having friends over for Canasta and Kaiser.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Domremy, SK with Eldon Danielson officiating. Interment will be held at Bethania Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations in Marguerite’s name can be made to the Bethania Cemetery Fund.
