Justin James Buzzard
(March 29, 1991 – December 22, 2011)
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our wonderful son, brother, nephew and grandson, Justin. Justin was on his way home to celebrate Christmas with his family – a part of his life that was very important to him and that he truly cherished.
Justin graduated from St. Mary’s High School. After that he worked at various jobs in the construction industry – a career that would lead him to Edmonton where he was working as a framer. Justin truly loved the work that he was doing – working with his hands. He often said “I love my job”. He would often call home all excited and prouder than ever and tell us about what they had done that day.
Justin’s passions were snowboarding, water sports and riding dirt bikes and quads. He excelled especially in snowboarding and wakeboarding even though there were a few stitches along the way and maybe a few gray hairs for his mom. He learned at a young age how to maintain his motorbike and eventually his blue Ford Explorer that he was so fond of.
In his short time here on earth he made many strong and lasting friendships – friends that would do anything for him and he would do the same for them. His most precious friend was his sister Ali. Whenever they would get together they would always laugh and reminisce about the many fun times they had together.
Justin, you have left a massive void in our hearts – you have left us way too soon. We will always cherish you and the memories that we hold so dear. God must have had a need for a special angel. Every time we look up and see a star in the sky we will be forever reminded of that twinkle in your eye and your beautiful smile.
Justin is survived by his parents Nicky Scriven (Randy) and Jim Buzzard (Rita); his sister Ali Buzzard (Devon Chubey); his grandparents Walburga Brink and Enid Mitchell; his Step Family: brother Carey Scriven (Carlena), sister Chantel (Kevin Fowler), brother Ryan Scriven, brother Chris Scriven (Lisa Markling), brother Jamill Fontaine, sister Danielle Fontaine (Ashwin), brother Justin Fontaine as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Jens Brink.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East with celebrant Reverend Father Maurice Fiolleau. Private Family Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
