ASHTON, Dora Thelma, late of Prince Albert, was born in Duck Lake June 14, 1916 and passed away peacefully January 11, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Villa, Prince Albert, with her Pastor and friends at her side. Dora is survived by her nieces Roselyn Smith, Gillian Brook and Linda Ashton, along with several cousins, all who reside in England. Dora was predeceased by her mother and father, Florence and Leonard Ashton, and her brother Ronald Ashton, who were all formerly of Prince Albert and Bognor Regis, England. Dora lived for many years with her long-time friend, Margaret Crosland, while she worked first with Eagle Stationery and then until her retirement at the Forestry Branch of the D.N.R. in Prince Albert. It was her privilege and joy to teach Sunday School classes at Alder Mission Church for several years before she became a founding member of Scarborough Baptist Church. She was active in the church’s outreach to the Herb Bassett Nursing Home from 1972 until her health limited her mobility. Thank you to Pat and all the staff of Good Shepherd Villa for their commitment and care the past ten years. A Funeral Service will be held, Wednesday, January 18, 2012, 1:30 pm, at Scarborough Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Memorial Gardens, Prince Albert. Arrangements in care of Northern Funeral Service, MacKenzie Chapel. Brian and Bev Stobbs, Funeral Directors. 306.763.8488 www.northernfuneralservice.ca
