He was united in marriage to Kathleen Kay in 1970. They resided and started their family in the Moose Jaw area. They later divorced and he followed his true love of road construction, which led him all over western Canada and finally to Hodgeville, where he met his dear friend of 20 years Darlene Haubrich. He resided in Hodgeville for 16 years, until he moved to Swift Current in 2000. Ed had a love for road construction and many of his stories reflected that. He was the happiest on a TS-14 or other heavy equipment. He spent hours on his computer adapting pictures, emailing family and playing games. He loved to spent time with his grandchildren, shopping, driving around, eating and sharing stories. He always had a joke or a trick for everyone he met. He had a quirky sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Ed loved to go on adventures, whether it was a holiday, to see family or a long drive for a good chicken wing. He was a caring and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Memorial donation in his memory to the Lung association of Saskatchewan, 1231 8th St. East, Sasakatoon, SK S7H 0S5, would be appreciated by the family. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
