Huma Khalid Morrison
It is with extreme sadness we announce the sudden death of a beloved wife, cherished daughter, sister, and wonderful friend in the passing of HUMA KHALID MORRISON (nee Chaudhry) on March 14, 2012 at the age of 38. Huma was born on November 10, 1973 in Etobicoke, Ontario. She attended high school in Dartmouth, N.S. and completed a Mining & Petroleum Engineering Degree from Dalhousie-Technical University (TUNS) in 1999. Huma began her career in Manitouwadge, Ontario and later moved to Saskatchewan to work for Cameco Corporation at McArthur River and Cigar Lake mines where she met Jim Morrison. Her most recent challenge and accomplishment was that of being the first female Mines Inspector for the Saskatchewan Government. Huma is survived by her loving husband Jim; her parents Shagufta and Khalid Chaudhry (Dartmouth); her sisters Naureen and Clayton (Prince Albert), Nazia (Dartmouth), and stepchildren Paige (Saskatoon), and Owen (Edmonton); nieces, Ashia & Suraiya (Prince Albert); and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who were all so very special to her. Special uncles were Billy, Jimmy and Tony (Dartmouth). She was predeceased by her grandparents Surriya and Abdul Waheed Shiekh, Abdul and Zohra Hameed; parents-in-law Sandra and Cliff Morrison, and stepchildren Skylar Morrison, and Travis Hart. Huma‘s life revolved around family. Her caring and giving nature touched lives. In games of trivia, you wanted her on your side! She loved to dance, especially with the “cousins”. During winter months, she travelled with family to tropical destinations and saw much of the world. She loved cruising with Jim on exhilarating motorcycle rides, white water rafting down the Columbia, wine tasting in the Okanagan or zip-lining over the jungles of Mexico. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice, or to sponsor one of the many children through groups such as World Vision. Funeral Service is being held in at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 20, 2012 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Val Bodnaryk. Huma will be laid to rest in Nova Scotia on Friday, March 23, 2012. Condolences may be sent to Jim and the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
