Lucien Ernest Joseph Bisson
It is with sad regret that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grand-father and great grand-father. Lucien was born (né) and raised on a farm in Debden, Saskatchewan. During his childhood, he learned from his parents the value of hard work and the importance of faith. On May 1, 1962, he married his lifelong companion, Yvonne Lajeunesse in Laventure, Saskatchewan. Together they had 4 children: Jacqueline, Léon and twins, Gérald and Joseph. Lucien and Yvonne spent the first part of their lives farming in Debden. Then, in 1977, they sold the farm and moved to Prince Albert in order to pursue new horizons. He continued to enjoy farming as a hobby while working at a local vacuum retailer as a service man. After discovering his knack for servicing and selling vacuums, he and his wife ventured on their own to open Bisson Vacuum Sales and Service in 1982. The business thrived for the next 30 years thanks to his love for people and his commitment to excellence. He was known to share his passions and stories with anyone who would lend an ear. Lucien and Yvonne enjoyed traveling and, later on in life, spent their winters in the warm climate of the Arizona desert. Throughout his life, Lucien embraced his French Catholic heritage and expressed this by supporting the francophone community and serving in the church's musical ministry. Above all, he lived for his grand-children and great grand-children, as nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with them. Lucien is survived by Yvonne, his loving wife of 49 years; his daughter Jacqueline (Marc) Cyr and their children André (Christine) & Léonie, Joël (Danielle) & Théo, Martin (Jacqueline), Jovan; his brothers Dassise (Marielle), Albert (Chantal), Sylva (Thérèse), Denis (Lyse) and Henri (Lucille); his sisters Rosilda (Henri) Chrétien, Sr. Rita and Thérèse; his sisters in-law Lillian and Eveline; his brother in-law Henri (Thérèse) Sevigny; Yvonne's sister Thérèse (Clément) Ruel and numerous nieces and nephews. Lucien was predeceased by his sons Léon, Gérald and Joseph; his parents Arsene and Alberta Bisson; his brothers Omer, Robert and Gérard; his sister Lydia Sevigny and his parents in-law Arthur and Jeannine Lajeunesse. We would like to thank the home care staff, doctors and hospital staff for their dedication. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April13, 2012 with Sister Rita Bisson and Chantal Bisson officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 with Celebrant Reverend Father Matthew Nguyen. Both services will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 – 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Debden Personal Care Home or Sacred Heart improvement Program (SHIP) Sacred Heart Cathedral. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
