Betty Eileen was born on April 11th, 1928 to Irene (Fleming) and Ira Woolsey at Star City, Saskatchewan. The oldest of nine children, she completed her Grade 8 at Service School and then began working in Lac Vert.
A passion for living and endless curiosity gave Betty many interests, notably music and community dances at Kew Garden School.
Betty married William Prost on November 15th, 1949 and she lived on the Prost Homestead until the fall of 1967. Betty and Bill had four children; Randy (Lillian Govenlock), Murray (Gail Jestin), Terry, and Sherry (Larry Larsen) followed by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In 1959, Betty was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and in 1973 she decided to move to Regina as the city offered her more opportunities. She returned to Melfort in 1985.
Betty’s genuine personality and heartfelt smile endeared her to family and friends everywhere.
Betty quietly left us on July 6, 2012 at Parkland Place. The family would like to extend their gratitude to her Doctors, Home Care Staff, and Parkland Place Staff that cared for Betty.
