Frank Lorne Warbis
June 11, 1925 – July 30, 2012

Frank Lorne Warbis passed away on July 30, 2012 at the Herb Bassett Nursing Home in Prince Albert, SK at the age of eighty seven. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty years, Marion; his two children, Earl (Murielle) Warbis of Rockland, ON and Phyllis (Ron) Virgin of Saskatoon, SK; his two grandchildren, Lindsay and Travis Virgin, both of Saskatoon, SK and his youngest sister, Dorothy Beaulieu. He was predeceased by his daughter, Laurie Warbis in 2007; his parents, Frank and Dorothy; his sister, Mary (Steve) Bland; his brothers, John (Erva) and Cliff and his brother-in-law, Victor Beaulieu. Frank was born the third of five children to Frank and Dorothy Warbis in Kinistino, SK on June 11, 1925. He attended school and farmed with his brother John in the district until 1955. On November 14, 1951 Frank married, the love of his life, Marion in Kinistino and began a journey that lasted in excess of sixty years and produced three children. Frank was very proud of his children and their accomplishments, guiding them as children, supporting them as adults and loving them unconditionally whether in good times or bad. His two grandchildren, Lindsay and Travis were the apples of his eye and Frank spent much time creating a children`s wonderland for the two of them at their home on Christopher Lake. Many happy family memories resulted from this time in Frank`s life. In 1955, Frank, Marion and their young children, Earl and Phyllis moved to Prince Albert, daughter Laurie followed five years later. Frank began work at Saskatchewan Penitentiary that same year and continued working at the `Pen’ until his retirement in 1986. Retirement was a glorious time for Frank, allowing him time to hunt, fish, sell firewood, fix bicycles, attend auctions and enjoy the company of his friends and family. In 1996, after much labour and effort, Frank was able to realize his greatest desire when he and Marion moved to their cottage at Christopher Lake. These years, living again in a rural setting, were happy ones for both Frank and Marion, especially with him having the opportunity to fish at his doorstep. Ill health necessitated a return to Prince Albert in 2006 and in 2010 required a move to the Herb Bassett Nursing Home. Always the optimist, Frank was genuinely happy and contented at the Herb Bassett Home and sincerely appreciated the high quality care he received from all the staff. A Requiem Eucharist will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012 at St. Alban`s Cathedral, 1410 Bishop McLean Crescent in Prince Albert. The Reverend Kenneth Lyons will be the celebrant. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held following the interment in the concourse at Gray`s Funeral Chapel. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to either the St. Alban`s Cathedral Endowment Fund, 1410 Bishop McLean Crescent, Prince Albert, SK S6V 4Z2 or the Herb Bassett Nursing Home, 1220 – 25th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 4N9.
