Jonas Eldège Berger
Jonas was the eldest child of Patricia Berger and Joel Berger born on November 14, 2004. We wanted to celebrate Jonas' life by remembering some of the things that made him the person he was. Jonas had particular obsessions about things and once he got something in his head, he would talk about it over and over and try to persuade you that he needed to have it in the worst way. For example he really loved Legos, and he made sure that all his family and relatives knew that he wanted Legos for his birthday and Legos for Christmas. He had a fascination with the Eiffel Tower… Eiffel Tower legos, Eiffel Tower building and Eiffel Tower puzzles, and all the facts about the Eiffel Tower. He was strong-willed yet gentle in so many ways. He loved Sponge Bob and the color green and was a Roughrider fan. His favorite song was “I'm sexy and I know it”. He was very visual and loved to take pictures and also loved to have his picture taken. He was very proud of his Daddy and would often walk up to complete strangers and say “That's my daddy”. He also thought it would be cool to shave his head like his Dad too. Jonas loved going to the beach and swimming and this summer he was so excited when he caught his first fish at Lower Fishing Lake on the July long weekend with his Dad, Sarah, Grandpa and Grandma. He wanted a treble hook in the worst way cause that meant he was more grownup if he used the same kind of hook as Grandpa and Dad. Jonas loved numbers and would count meticulously, either minutes or stairs. Give him a counting challenge and he would work diligently through the process until he got to the end goal. He had a memory for detail. He loved going to the park and spent lots of time playing with his sister, Sarah. They played together often and even though they had their little squabbles, they were still very close. He also had a special closeness to his mother Patricia, and she always made sure that family and relatives would partake in his birthdays and all the special occasions in his life. When Jonas wanted to be mischievous, he would talk in his own funny language just to get everybody going and they would say “Talk English”. He loved to imagine things and wanted you to join in playing in his imaginary world. We often heard him and Sarah having conversations and playing their games in that pretend world. This year he joined a bowling league and won first place trophy in his category. Jonas had just completed his Grade 1 at St. Michael's School in Prince Albert. We will miss his presence in our everyday life. He touched each one of us in his own special way. Jonas was predeceased by his mother Patricia; his Grandpa Russel and Grandma Roberta Holomichek; and his Great Grandpa Eldege and Great Grandma Flore Perrault. He leaves behind his younger sister and special friend Sarah; his father Joel Berger (fiancé Vicky Lofstrom) and stepbrother Raydin; Grandpa and Grandma Raymond and Pauline Berger; his aunts and uncles Lisa Berger and Mike Slaney, Betty Lynn and Darren Mueller, Rose and Bob Thompson, Debbie and Paul Goota; his cousins Russell and Natasha Mueller, Morgan, Crystal and Danielle Thompson, and Tanner Goota; many uncles, aunts, nephew and nieces too numerous to mention; special friends in his life John Bunker, and Jason Hugli, his future stepfather to be. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012 with Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 with celebrant Reverend Father Travis Myrheim.
