Fernande Hudon
September 18, 1922 – August 9, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Fernande Gilberte (Moffet) Hudon on Thursday, August 9th at the age of 89. Fernande was born on September 18, 1922 in Laurier Station, Quebec. Before moving to Saskatchewan, Fernande was a telephone operator in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec. She married Edmond Hudon and in 1950 moved to a farm just north of Zenon Park, Sask. Edmond and Fernande remained in Zenon Park and raised six children until 1967 when the family moved to Prince Albert to start Hudon's Transport. Following the sale of Hudon's Transport, Fernande and Edmond co-managed Forest Grove Village Apts. until their retirement in 1985. After the sale of their family home in 2001 they moved to Columbian Apts. In 2008 Fernande moved to the Kopera Care Home where she resided until her final days. Fernande enjoyed to cook, read, crochet, but especially spend time with family and friends. Fernande is survived by her loving family: her two daughters Lina (Doug) Ritchie and Micheline (Dennis) Billay; her four sons Joël (Wendi), Yvon, Gaëtan and Gérard; her eleven grandchildren Adam, Lee (Yuki), Denée (Regan), Danielle (Mike), Breean, Kailey, Graeme, Evan, Laura, Dustin, Mikaela; her great grandchildren Taya, Linkin, Rilynn, Allory and Kohen; her brother Guy (Huguette) Moffet; and sister-in-law Monique Moffet; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Edmond Hudon; her parents Wilfred and Laura Moffet; her sisters Rita and Yolande and her brothers Ernest and Bruno. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2012 with Sister Renée Buliard officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 with celebrant Reverend Father Roque Concepcion. Both services will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will take place immediately following Mass at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Sermon. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
