Mrs. Florence Marie Louise (née Joubert) Carey passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Herb Bassett Nursing Home. She was born on March 23, 1919 to Albert and Marieanne (née Trottier) Joubert, the first of four children in the St. Louis District. She married Joseph Rabut and together had seven children. After being widowed she married Joseph Carey and had three more children. Mom was an avid gardener and was extremely proud of her beautiful flowers. She lived most of her life in the Hoey and St. Louis areas. Florence is survived by her children: Lionel (Anita), Andy (Irene), Muriel (Les) Jeske, Florent (Val), Rupert (Mel), Marcel (Corrine), Danny (Elise), Linda (Dennis) Chassé, Mary-ann (Greg) Morrell; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; her special friend Jean-Paul Lemay; her brother Marcel (Barb) Joubert; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands Joseph Rabut and Joseph Carey; her son Gérald Rabut; her daughter-in-law Valerie (McDougall) Rabut; her granddaughter and spouse Michèle (Rabut) and Ervin Roy; her parents; her sister Thérèse Langlois and her brother Lucien Joubert. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 10 from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25 Street East by Father Roque Concepcion. It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice.
