Rene Henri Joseph Bourassa

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Rene Bourassa on Sunday Aug. 19, at the age of 62. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Rene grew up on the farm near Mildred and moved to Prince Albert where he attended St. Mary’s High School. After farming for a short while, he worked for the Wapiti Regional Library for 10 years until he began his own construction business. He was a journeyman carpenter and his attention to detail and elaborate work was his trademark. Rene will be remembered for the avid outdoorsman that he was. His passions were camping, fishing at Waskesiu, whitewater canoeing, kayaking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, spending time with family. He was an active member of the Prince Albert Ski Club. Rene is survived by his wife Elaine; children Nicole (Darrell) and their children Joshua, Caitlin, Cassidy; Jason (Wendy) and their children Chantal, Dezeray, Ethan; Rob (Leanne) and their children Connor, Jake; Rachel (Lonny) and their children Faith, Braden; brother Paul Bourassa (Donna); three sisters, Yvette Blaus, Rita Bourassa; Aline Jessome (Bill ); uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins. Rene is predeceased by parents Agathe and Andre, brother Francis and grandson Eric. His Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church, 1351 – 28th Street East on August 30th at 2:00 pm.
