Réne Painchaud
June 30, 1944 – August 25, 2012
Réne Donald Painchaud passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the age of 68 years. Réne will be lovingly remembered by his wife Paulette; his daughters Carmelle (Ryan) Wehner and Michelle (Travis) Grunerud; grandchildren Mykala, Trysta, Cayan, Austen, Kierstyn and Delaney; his brother Norman (Verna) Painchaud; his sisters Juliette (Raymond) Trudel, Yvonne (Andy) Trudel, and Elise (Rick) Rattai; his brothers-in-law Clément (Betty-Ann) Piché, Adrien (Rose) Piché, Norman (Maxine) Piché, Réne (Marie-Louise) Piché, and Roger (Wendy) Piché; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Réne was predeceased by his parents Donald and Aurore Painchaud; his father and mother-in-law Marc and Jeannette Piché; and godson Steven Painchaud. Réne was born in Prince Albert SK and raised in Albertville SK where he grew up on the farm. He married the love of his life Paulette in 1971 and just celebrated their 41st anniversary. Réne started his career with the Department of Highways in 1968 as a grader operator which he retired from 36 years later. After retirement, he worked at Truck Outfitters off and on for 6 years enjoying the company of the workers especially his dear friend and cousin Adrien Gobeil and wife Elise. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Réne's friends and family were very important to him. Réne was always smiling, laughing and telling jokes. He never complained about anything. If someone needed something, Réne was always there to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed coffeeing with his buddies at Tim Horton's, he loved going to watch his grandkids skate, and he loved to watch his nephew Gage play hockey. He spoke very highly of his daughters and grandchildren. He always looked forward to the stories the grandkids would tell him over the phone every morning. He enjoyed going out to help his brother-in-law Réne and sister-in-law Marie-Louise with their farming duties. Réne will be dearly missed by all his friends and family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Albertville, SK with celebrant Reverend Father Travis Myhreim. Interment will be held at the Albertville Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
