Marie Francoise Josephine LeJan went to meet the Lord with family by her side at Melfort Hospital on September 13, 2012. She was born in St. Brieux, SK on June 19, 1920 to Alexandre & Yvonne Carfantan. She was the eldest of nine living children in her family. She stayed home from school at the early age of fourteen to help her mother look after all her younger siblings.
The love of her life “Joseph” walked to the farm to see her at the age of nineteen. She married him and together they raised three daughters.
In 1954 they moved to Nipawin. Marie resided there until 1990, when she moved to Melfort to be closer to her family.
Marie was close to all her family including her extended family. She really enjoyed visits from family and loved a good game of cards.
Marie leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Josephine (Ted) Angelopoulos; her grandchildren Cory (Lorie) Angelopoulos, Jackie (Trent) Rogers, Ken McCrea and Jim McCrea; her great grandchildren Brett & Quentin Rogers, Amy & Tanner Semenuik, Memphis & Logan McCrea; her great-great grandchild Kylie James; her brother Gerard Carfantan; her sisters Therese Amble, Josephine Creurer, Yvette Schroeder and Laurette Lewis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Eva; her husband Joseph; granddaughter Betty Ann; and her daughter Yvette. She was also predeceased by two infant brothers; a sister Cecile and brothers Joseph & Fred.
