Mary was born on November 9, 1940 to Peter and Nettie Oranchuk in Wakaw, SK. She passed away at Melfort, SK on October 24 , 2012 at the age of 71 years.

Tway was home for part of her life, until the passing of her late husband Henry in 1983. She then met her soul mate Bill Bergen and home became a farm near Gronlid. Mary always had a big garden and had a green thumb to go with it. When Mary wasn’t busy with gardening and canning, she was busy keeping family full of homemade perogies, cabbage rolls and her special homemade mushroom sauce. The grandchildren always looked forward to eating Grandma’s food and playing a good game of Kaiser. Mary and Bill also played in Kaiser Tournaments when time permitted.

Mary is survived by her soul mate Bill Bergen, her son Dale (Val) Kowalchuk of Tisdale, SK and family Mike (Jessica) and Lukas Krystal of Macklin, SK, Rick (Stacey) Krystal of Hamilton, ON, Michelle (Jason) and Blake Dawe of Naciam, SK, Corey (Special friend Amber) of Macklin, SK ; her son Dennis (Kim) Kowalchuk of Annaheim, SK and family Dustin (Sydney) and Madden Kowalchuk of Moose Jaw, SK, Jessie Kowalchuk of Regina Beach, SK; her brother Maurice (Lucy) Oranchuk of Prince Albert, SK , her sisters Victoria Shulhun of Tway, SK and Iris Wieze of Chicago, IL.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Henry Kowalchuk, her parents Peter and Nettie Oranchuk and brother Ernest Oranchuk.
