William Skoropat
May 19, 1929 – November 5, 2012
Mr. William Skoropat, age 83, beloved husband of Mrs. Sophie Skoropat, of Prince Albert, SK passed away peacefully Monday, November 5, 2012 at Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home. Dad is survived by his loving family: Sophie (nee Urbaniak), his wife of 60 years; his children: Mary Ann (Mike) Topping of Shellbroook, SK, Danny (Connie) Skoropat of Spruce Home, SK and Karen (Jose Soto) Skoropat of Calgary, AB; his sisters Mary (late John) Friesen of Meadow Lake, SK and Olga (Nick) Czychowski of Prince Albert, SK; his grandchildren: Jennifer Topping (Barkley Swenson) of Melfort, SK, Jeffrey Topping (Ashley Leeder) of Lethbridge, AB, Joanne Topping (Andrew Sushelnicki) of Sturgis, SK, Dallas Skoropat and Tyson Skoropat of Spruce Home, SK; his great granddaughter Allyanne Swenson of Melfort, SK; as well as many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Annie (Pawlyshyn) Skoropat; his brothers-in-law: John Friesen, Frank Zdrill, Ed Gizas and Henry Urbaniak and his niece Donna Czychowski. Dad was born May 19, 1929 in Fir Ridge, SK. Dad, his parents and sisters moved to Spruce Home in 1944. Dad was a devoted farmer his entire life and was also a welder/mechanic by trade. His trade allowed him to be part of the building of the Prince Albert Pulp Mill, where he worked for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and holidays with their friends. A Private Family Service will be held in Dad’s honour with Eldon Danielson officiating. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
