KAZIMER LUCYSHYN
We the family of KAZIMER LUCYSHYN, beloved husband of Wasylia announce his sudden passing on Monday, November 5, 2012. Kazimer was born in Prud’homme on September 26, 1924 the youngest son of John and Katherine Lucyshyn. He worked alongside his brothers on the family farm in Prud’homme until he met the love of his life, Wasylia Baranitsky. They were married on October 14, 1953, recently celebrating 59 years of marriage. In 1958, Dad purchased two quarters of land in MacDowall where he moved his family, spending many hours with relatives building the family homestead. They were blessed with 8 children; 5 daughters and to make their family complete 3 sons. Kazimer is survived by his loving wife Wasylia; their 8 children, 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren Angie (Jim) Nelson, Cara (Andrew) Pete, Allison and Devin, Steven (Stacey) Nelson Zoe and Jaycee, Laura (Callum) Olver, Teagan, Petra, Nixie; Micheal Nelson (Tara); Lorraine (Tom) Ruffell, Andrew and Michael; Bernadette (James) Taman, Crystal (Blair) Purdy, Deanna (Brad) Kinar and little Wasylia, Clinton Kalyniuk (Riz), Jeremey Taman, Reanna Taman; Agnes (Lawrence) Korniski, Julie (Gary) VanHorn, Sahara, Savanah, Dawson; Sharlene (Geordie) Yando and little Kaz, Ashley Korniski (friend Steven); Gloria (Marcel) St. Amand, Jaedin, Brendin; Francis (Tricia) Lucyshyn, Brooklyn, Carter; Michael (Gail) Lucyshyn, Justin, Cody; Christopher (Debbie) Lucyshyn, Matthew, Emily; brothers Frank (Pauline) Lucyshyn and Steve (Pauline) Lucyshyn; brother-in-law John (Alice) Baranitsky and brother-in-law Marcel Leuschen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents John and Katherine Lucyshyn; step-mother Annie Lucyshyn; brother Joseph (Katie) Lucyshyn; sisters Pauline (Fred) Bodnar Tena (Steve) Slywka; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Peter and Mary Baranitsky; brother-in-law Gerard Baranitsky; sister-in-law Christine (Mike) Pawluk and sister-in-law Bernadette Leuschen. Dad loved the land but his greatest love was his family and church. His greatest joy was teaching his grandchildren the art of scrabble and monopoly. Many week-ends and sleepovers were spent at the family farm and in the City and yes, Grandpa did make up words. Kazimer was a wonderful neighbour, always ready to help anyone when the need arose. The open door and the ever ready cup of coffee was an invitation that even a stranger enjoyed. When the move to the City (Prince Albert) came in 1996, Dad was as excited as a kid in a toy shop. He’d realized one of his greatest passions “Singing”, boy did he sing! Every Sunday he proudly took his place in the choir and poured his heart out to the music he felt inside. He was a farmer, great neighbour, friend, builder, tinker and a dreamer. There was never a project he couldn’t do, taking great pride in making a pile of wood into something beautiful and useful. He lived each day of his life to the fullest, showing everyone the value of Faith, Love and Honesty. He felt this was all that was needed to make life fulfilling. We will remember the wonderful man who brought laughter and joy to our lives. His smile was his trademark and memories of him will live on in our hearts forever. We love you and will forever miss you. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday November 8th at River Park Memorial Chapel, 301 River Street West, Prince Albert. Mr. Dennis Bleier will officiate. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9th at Sacred Heart Cathedral 1401 – 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert. A private family interment will take place at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sacred Heart Renovation Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Don Moriarty and Wayne Timoffee, Funeral Directors
