CHURCHWELL – Anne. It is with great sadness we announce the passing or our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister on November 24, 2012 at the age of 86. Anne was born on August 11, 1926 in Saskatoon and was the eldest child of Lena and Michael Stadnyk. Her childhood years were spent in Mildred, SK. Anne moved to Prince Albert to work for Burns Foods and met Charles Churchwell and married in 1944. She lovingly raised her four wonderful children in Prince Albert. She later moved to Edmonton to be close to her daughter and family and worked for Penningtons and Provincial News. Upon her retirement, she returned to Saskatoon to spend time with her other children and family members. Anne was a very skilled seamstress and took much pride and joy in sewing both everyday clothing to elaborate wedding dresses. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and like all Ukrainian ladies her kitchen was always full of food and an abundance of baking. She was a lover of music and sang with the Sweet Adelines for many years. Prayer time was always very important to her and many hours were spent in her later years praying for anyone in need on her prayer chain. Anne was an active member in her church affairs, especially singing and flower arranging for Sunday services. Anne was predeceased by her husband Charlie; parents, Mike and Lena Stadnyk; and several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ken (Carol) of Kamloops, BC, Kathy (“favourite” son-in-law, Lawrence) Placatka of Edmonton, AB, Keith of Saskatoon, and Garnet (Judy) of Saskatoon; daughter-in-law, Gwen Churchwell of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Chad, Kim (Myron Zamzow), Bill (Sonya), Brad (Bridgitte Blais), Kendra (Grams angel) and Jim Clark; great grandchildren, Tanner, Reid, Hugh, Jack, Oscar, Hunter, Charlie, Molly and Jessica; great great grandson, Cashton; sisters, Mary Blumson, Frances Witwicky, Phyllis (Al) Bakke, Roni (Gord) Fries; brother, Nick Stadnyk; special niece, Marlene Leith; and many other nieces , nephews, family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, 10 Grosvenor Crescent, Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers a donation to Secret Santa would be appreciated by her family because one of her children’s fondest memories were of how hard their mother worked to be able to provide special “bought” gifts for them at Christmas. Please take time to say a prayer for someone in need. On line condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawrylukfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to Hawryluk Funeral Home. 922.6611
