Noreen Margaret Aitkens (Bickford) was born on October 15, 1915 in Kings Cross, New Brunswick and passed away peacefully at Parkland Place on November 24, 2012. Throughout her 97 years she witnessed many world changing events and was very enthused by progress.
Noreen’s dad was an accomplished finishing carpenter which took them to many different cities in Canada and the USA and this allowed her the opportunity to experience different cultures, which were happy memories for her and she talked of them often. Noreen took great pride in her career as a lab technician and saw many advances in 30 years.
Noreen married Pat Aitkens in 1967 and together they loved to travel in their motorhome visiting parks and museums and enjoying many happy adventures.
In 1990 Noreen and Pat moved to Melfort from the BC coast to be closer to their family. While she was able to get around she spent time with the Melfort Arts Group and attended many Mustang hockey games.
Noreen had a love for all animals especially her beloved dogs Perky and Maggie and never missed going to the Melfort fair to see the heavy horses.
Known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as Nana she loved to hear about their activities and what was going on in their lives.
