Evelyn Wilma Ann Hanson (nee Peterson), after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully on Dec. 6, 2012 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan at the age of 69, and went to her heavenly home. She is survived by: her husband of 48 years, Dale Hanson; her children: Darren (Denise) Hanson, Warren (Carmen) Hanson and Carmen (Ralph) Lynde; her grandchildren: Cole (Jessica) Hanson, Austin Hanson, Selah (Paul) Hickerson, Skylar Hanson, Shainah Hanson, and Seth Hanson; her great-grandchild: Karsten Hanson; her siblings: Bob (Colleen) Peterson, Hugh (Bernice) Peterson, Midge Cardona, Harvey (Maggie) Peterson, Elwood (Darlene) Peterson and Roy (Val) Peterson; her mother-in-law: Janet Hanson; and her sister-in-law: Darlene (Wally) Michalycia. She was predeceased by her parents: George and Maffie Peterson; her sister-in-law: Marlene Peterson; her father-in-law: Harvey Hanson and her great-granddaughter; Rylee Anna Hickerson. Ev was born in Canwood, Saskatchewan on March 25, 1943 to George and Maffie Peterson. She married Dale Hanson of Birch Hills in 1964. Ev had an amazingly positive attitude, sunny disposition and an infectious laugh that warmed the hearts of many. She was known for her quick wit and ability to come up with a pun at any given moment. She loved to garden, read and cook. She was a wonderful wife and mother who was truly “far above rubies” and loved the Lord with all her heart. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Youth With A Mission (YWAM) supporting Melissa Birkland as she nurses in the mission fields. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 – 2:00 pm at Lake Park Baptist Church, Birch Hills, SK, with Pastor Matt Teigrob officiating.
