Tony Derkach
1927-2013
Tony was born on March 25, 1927 in Hubbard, SK. Tony farmed all of his life in the Kinistino area. He loved sports such as soccer and hockey especially the Detroit Red Wings, football-Saskatchewan Rough Riders but he loved watching baseball-Toronto Blue Jays with his wife Martha and last but not least curling. Tony was a kind hearted man who would always do anything for anyone at anytime, he was funny and he was dearly loved by his family. Tony was predeceased by his parents Helen (Piasta) and Sawko Derkach; his brothers Sam, Steve, John and Jim and his sisters Dora, Barbara, Mary, Sophie, Jean, Anna and Katherine. He is survived by his loving wife Martha (Packota) Derkach; his son John Derkach of St.Walburg, SK; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013. Both services will be held at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Ivan Nahachewsky. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N., Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
