Colleen Kuppenbender

Kuppenbender, Colleen (Walsh) of St. Louis, SK passed away suddenly at her daughter’s home in Regina, SK on January 29, 2013 at the age of 76 years. Colleen was born to Luke and Marion Walsh at Drumheller, AB on November 19, 1936. She was accelerated through high school and went on to attend Administrators College in Calgary, AB at the age of 16 years. After completing college she gained employment in Calgary and it was there that she met Rupert Kuppenbender of Domremy, SK. They married on June 30, 1956 and moved to Prince Albert where she began her career at the PA Medical Clinic. She retired from the clinic after 46 years of dedicated service. In her 76 years of life her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always there watching and supporting them in all of their activities. Colleen was a devoted volunteer, coach and loved spending time with children. She especially enjoyed instructing young bowlers and was successful in coaching winning teams to numerous provincial and national gold medals. She loved to spend time with friends and family at the cabin at Weyakwin Lake and her Rider game day parties were enjoyed by many. Colleen was predeceased by her parents Marion and Luke Walsh and in 2001 she lost her beloved husband Rupert. She is survived by her loving family: her daughter Michelle Basler (Bruce Cooper) and her children: Kelsey (Jamie Wolf) and their sons Taylor and Cooper, Alix and Brett; her son, Kelly (Bonnie) and their children Colbi, Macie and Cole. Colleen had a great love for animals and leaves behind her faithful four-legged companion, Heidi. She will be sadly missed by her many friends, especially her very dear friend, Marilyn Taylor. Vigil of Prayer will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with celebrant Reverend Father Tuan Doan. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the SPCA, PO Box 1832, Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J9. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
