MICHAEL CHARLES BUNDON
Michael died peacefully in St. Paul's Hospital on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the age of 95. Michael was born on April 6, 1917 in Prince Albert to Mary Weinmeyer and Michael Bundon. With his parents he spent his first year in Windsor, ON but moved with his family to farm in Luseland, SK at the end of WWI. The dust bowl of the 1930s forced his family to abandon the farm in 1933. Michael and his six siblings left Luseland with their parents to begin anew in the Prince Albert area. During the Depression Michael worked cutting cordwood in the Christopher Lake area. He also worked as a farm hand, as a relief gang government worker building the road to Montreal Lake and on the railroad. In 1941 Michael began work at Sick's Brewery (later Molson Brewery) in Prince Albert. His career was interrupted by military service with the South Saskatchewan Regiment from June 1942 to December 1945. On returning from the war, Michael completed high school and later received a diploma in Brewing from the Siebel Institute in Chicago. He continued his work in the brewing industry until his retirement in 1982. Michael met the love of his life, Marie Delhommeau, in White Star and they were married on April 6, 1942 in Prince Albert where they lived until moving to Regina in 1974.
