Georgina (Wilson) Martin

MARTIN, Georgina- It is with saddened hearts the family of Georgina Martin wishes to announce her passing. Georgina passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at the Victoria Union Hospital in Prince Albert. Georgina was born July 18, 1924 in the County of Fermanagh in Northern Ireland to James & Isabella Wilson. The family moved to Canada and settled in the Spruce Lake area. After obtaining her teaching certificate in Saskatoon she moved to Paddockwood where she met and married Sid Martin. Mom taught school in Paddockwood for 34 years and was very involved in the Royal Purple, Legion and the curling club. They later moved to Prince Albert in retirement but she continued her involvement with the Paddockwood community. They loved spending time at the family cabin at Candle Lake. Family was always very important to Mom and she attended every activity she could involving her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her son: Wilfred (Bev) Martin; her grandchildren: Shannon, Tracy, Randy (Krista) Martin; her great-granddaughter Aubree; her daughter Elaine (Doug) Skrudland; her grandchildren: Jodi (Marvin) Tournier, Marty (Stephanie) Skrudland, Paul (Christie) Skrudland; her great-grandsons: Anthony, Braden and Jakob Tournier and her sister Florence Underhill. Georgina was predeceased by her husband Sidney, her brothers Robert and Victor and her sister Nella. For the past year and a half Mom had been residing and receiving wonderful care at the Good Shepherd Villas. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
