Emil Jonasson was born Oct. 3, 1912 in Parkside, SK. to Jonas and Justina Jonasson. Emil passed away on April 4, 2013 in Shellbrook, SK. at the grand age of 100 years.

Emil leaves to cherish his memory; his children; Thelma (Dave) Rogozinsky of Mont Nebo, SK. and her children, Susan Hetu/David Gullickson, Eli (Elaine) Hetu and Raine (Kelly) Hetu; Luella Jonasson of Shellbrook,SK. and her children, Lorraine (Neil) Fajt, Calvin (Kim) Derr, Lawrence (Leigh) Derr, Tracey (Shawn) Larson; Henry Jonasson of Parkside, SK. and his children, Tanya Miller and Cory (Jackie) Jonasson; Cecil (Audrey) Jonasson of Edson, AB. and his children, Crystal (Travis) Chopko, Kim Jonasson, Shane (Kelly) Mykyte and Shalene Enright; Glen (Lorraine) Jonasson of Stony Plain, AB. and their children, Kelly (Laura) Jonasson, and Chad Jonasson; Steven (Natalie) Jonasson of Sicamous, BC. And their children, Jonathon (Georgia) Jonasson and Skye (Lyndon) Petten; 33 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and numerous other relatives.

Emil was predeceased by; his wife, Della (nee: Peterson) Jonasson, his parents, Jonas & Justina Jonasson, his daughter, Betty, his siblings, Annie (Andrew) Nelson, Pete (Swea) Jonasson, Ellen (Ted) Westin, Albert (Margaret) Jonasson, John Jonasson, Henry Jonasson, Violet (Conrad) Holfield and numerous other relatives.

The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2013 in the Shellbrook Pentecostal Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Claude Tucker as Officiant. The Eulogists will be Lorraine Fajt and Susan Hetu. The Pianist will be Helen Stene. Special Music by Cecil , Henry, Marlene and Lyndon. The Honorary Pallbearers will be “All of Emil’s family and friends who knew and loved him.” The Pallbearers will be ; The Grandsons, Calvin Derr, Lawrence Derr, Kelly Jonasson, Chad Jonasson, Jonathon Jonasson, Neil Fajt, Eli Hetu, Rainy Hetu, Cory Jonasson. The Memorial Donations in memory of Emil may be made to the Shellbrook And Districts Health Services Project. The Interment will be in the Parkside Cemetery. Beau “Lac” Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
