1920 – 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nick Jaman on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in Saskatoon, SK. He was born on May 16, 1920 in Samburg, SK. Nick was raised on a farm in the Janow Corners area, met the love of his life, Anna Lysyk and married on September 21, 1942. They moved to the farm in Meath Park area where they continued to farm for 40 years. Nick and Anna resided on the farm until 1971 when they moved to the village of Meath Park where they lived until 1980. They enjoyed retirement in Kelowna for 20 years where they met many good friends. In 2000 they moved once again, to Prince Albert, SK until Anna’s passing in February, 2010, soon afterwards Nick relocated to Saskatoon to live in an assisted living facility until his passing. Nick was predeceased by his wife Anna; his parents Alec & Dora and all his siblings, Mary (Bitzkal), Peter, Lena (Romanchuk), George, Sally (Truba) and half brother Alec Hlewka. He is survived by his three sons, Ed (Linda) of Saskatoon, SK, Henry (Sheila) of Casa Grande, Arizona and Brian (Dianna) of Brooks, AB; his six grandchildren Candis, Corey, Jaeson, Alexis, Clark and Philip and his nine great grandchildren Roman, Kaitlyn, Jocelyn, Haley, Tanner, Cody, Hunter, Anna and Sarrah. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 770 – 14th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. with Reverend Father Ivan Nahachewsky officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N., Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
