Marie Gareau

The passing of Marie Gareau, age 88 years, occurred on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at St. Paul’s Hospital. Marie was born on October 18, 1924 in Perigord, SK to Zenon and Hélène (Pelletier) Dubé. Marie and Alphonse were married on August 19, 1947 and were blessed with five children. They lived in Prince Albert where she was an active member of the CWL. After she moved to Saskatoon, Marie became a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Parish and the CWL. Marie is survived by her children, Maurice Gareau, Gerald (Linda) Gareau, Claudette (Jelko) Radic, Dianne (Barry) Gareau; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Laurette DesRoches, Martha Bantle, Madeleine Gagné, Jaquie Dubé; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse Gareau; daughter, Pauline Gareau; parents, Zenon and Hélène Dubé; sister, Thérèsa Plante; and brother, Yves Dubé. Vigil of Marie will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held at the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK) with Rev. Fr. Ken Beck officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in the Prince Albert Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Prince Albert, SK.
