Wilhelmina “Billie” Fisher (nee Kruger)
August 29, 1920 – May 29, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother at Good Shepherd Villas in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Billie was born to Edward and Mary Kruger while living in Hilda Alberta. Billie enjoyed growing up in rural Alberta and Saskatchewan, moving to the Pathlow, SK area at age 12 where family members continue to farm. She was 3rd oldest of 9 siblings whom she loved dearly. Billie served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Sergeant during World War II teaching night vision to soldiers. Mom was working as a secretary in Saskatoon, SK when she met the love of her life, Tom. They were married on September 3, 1955. They made Prince Albert, SK their home in 1961 where Billie managed a busy household of 6 children. She was always there to support all of our interests. Billie was active in the UCW at Calvary United Church, earned her Life Masters while a member of the Prince Albert Duplicate Bridge Club and was a successful Tupperware Dealer and Manager. Billie took a special interest in people, always remembering the stories she was told. She was predeceased by her loving husband Tom; parents Mary and Edward; son Peter; siblings Edward, Emil, Anna Sanderson, Elenora, Rionet Rothery and Louise Adamson; brothers & sisters-in-law Judy Kruger, Lloyd Sanderson and Phil Rothery. Mom leaves to mourn children Craig (Jacquiline), Gordon (Rose), Elaine (Al) Kelly, Dave (Naida) and Paul; daughter-in-law Gail; brothers Elmer and Clarence (Grace); sister-in-law Vera; brother-in-law Bill Adamson; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Good Shepherd Villas for caring for both Mom and Dad in their final years. A Celebration of Billie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Calvary United Church, 114 – 25th St. East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Officer and Members of the Royal Canadian Legion will confer Veterans Honours. Donations in Billie's honour may be made to Calvary United Church.
