SERGIO CARLOS ALBERTO GALLEGOS DUEÑAS
October 10, 1933 – June 11, 2013

Sergio was drafted into the Chilean Army and served 2 years. He then decided to join the Chilean Air Force and served 10 years with pride. Sergio was employed with a welding company in Chile when he completed his service. During these years and many more to come, he enjoyed and excelled in playing on various soccer teams. On May 15, 1977, Sergio departed his loved country Chile with his wife and children to embark on a new and improved life in Prince Albert. He proceeded to have a wonderful fulfilling life with his family by his side. Sergio loved working at the Holy Family Hospital where he retired from after 20 years in 1997. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Sergio enjoyed going for walks, visiting and keeping himself busy with woodworking. His favorite pastime was soccer any chance possible. He enjoyed playing, watching it on TV, in person or watching his son Rodrigo referee a came. Sergio was a magnificent dancer and danced with a great smile on his face and was not shy with the jokes. His love of dancing came from his mother teaching him how to dance the Tango when he was younger, living in Chile. Sergio’s life was full of love for his family and was always ready with a smile and a hug. Sergio is survived by his wife Hilda; his daughters Myriam (Javier), Rosa (Stuart) and Mirza; his sons Dante (Sylvia) and Rodrigo; his grandchildren Marco, Daniel & Eduardo, Allen, Cintia & Jessica, Christina, Rosita, Danielle, Shana and Ivan; his great grandchildren Julian, Adryan, Teagan & Chloe, Cylas; his brothers Jose (Sylvia), Mauricio (Eliana) and Luis; his sister Margarita, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and his loving companion dog Santi. He was predeceased by his parents Felix and Maria, his granddaughter Melissa; his brothers Claudio and Juan; his sister Maria and his beloved dog Kilo. Public Viewing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Roque Concepcion.
