Natalie was predeceased by her husband, Don Martin; daughter, Brenda Martin; sisters, Mary Gill, Helen Stringer; and brothers, John and Stanley Toporowski. Mom was the fifth born to Peter and Ksenia Toporowski and first child born in Canada after the families arrival from Ukraine in 1929. As a young woman, mom worked for the Paddockwood Co-op where she met and later married Don Martin on June 30th, 1950. Mom and Dad decided to purchase their own general store which they owned for 24 years. Mom raised five children while working at the family store, being a farming wife and tending a large, productive garden. In 1976 mom returned to work for the Paddockwood Co-op and eventually assumed the role of store manager. Natalie had a great love for gardening, canning, baking and hosted numerous perogy and cabbage roll making bees. Mom would not let any of her family leave her home empty handed without a bag of home-made goodies. When grandchildren entered her life they became the center of her world. Mom was always interested in their endeavours and accomplishments. Mom, your spirit and beautiful heart have touched the lives of so many. You will be deeply missed and always remembered with love. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28th at the Paddockwood School, Paddockwood, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Spina Bifida Association of Canada.
