EDNA ALEDA BUTTON (ERVEN)
September 17, 1919 – June 15, 2013
Mom was born in Dinsmore, SK, the fourth of eight children. She received her R.N. in Lethbridge, AB at the Galt School of Nursing. She was married on October 9, 1943 to James A. Button in Ponoka, AB. They moved to Nipawin, SK in 1945 and she retired in 1981. They moved to Emma Lake, SK in 1982. She was predeceased by her Mother and Father; her husband Jim and all of her siblings. Mom moved into senior housing in 1985 in Christopher Lake, SK. Mom was always on the go and loved to volunteer. She was an active member of St. Christophers Anglican Church, Legion Aux., Seniors Club, Recreation Board and the Seniors Wellness clinic. She will be missed by her sons Kenn (Heather); Gord (Barb); four grandchildren, Lisa Button-Rowe (Todd), Erica Button-Mantai (Scott), Christopher Button (Meghan), Sarah Button-Peters (Drew); six great grandchildren, Morgan Button, Skylar and Dana Rowe, Cassidie and Gillian Button and Alyssa Peters. Her great grandchildren were the love of her life. She had her room at Mont St. Joseph’s covered with their pictures and showed everyone who would look. Mom loved being active in her last home at MSJ. She loved attending church service and bible studies, enjoyed the musical entertainment, playing cards, crocheting, doing puzzle books and visiting other relatives and friends residing in the home. Her greatest joy was visiting the MSJ Daycare and interacting with the children. Mom will be missed by all who knew her. We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the staff at Mont St. Joe’s who took the most tender care of her. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at St. Christophers Anglican Church, Christopher Lake, SK with Reverend Ken Lyons officiating. Private Interment will be follow at Mabel Hill Cemetery, Nipawin, SK. In lieu of other tributes Memorial Donations can be made to Mont St. Joseph, 777 – 28th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 8C2. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
