Hartvig Oliver Boger

Hartvig Oliver Boger was born November 3, 1910 at Magnor, Norway and passed away at the Birchview Nursing Home, Birch Hills, Sk, July 1, 2013. He immigrated to Canada in 1929 at age 18. He married Ida Berg from the Northern Light District in 1935. Hartvig purchased his farm land in 1944 in the Northern Light District which is south of Birch Hills. He raised his family and continued to farm until 1965. He moved to Birch Hills and worked at Birch Hills Motors as a parts man for seven years. He retired and continued to live in Birch Hills until his passing.
He is survived by his three children: Arvin (Borgny) Boger, Bertha (John) Hemstad and Harvey (Lorraine) Boger. He has eight grandchildren: Arden Boger, Angela (Wally) Hasselmann, Sandra Boger, Ian Hemstad, Tyra (Mike Scanlan) Hemstad, Anna (Todd) Devenis, Shae (Steve) Adams, Jonas Boger and ten great grandchildren. One sister Dorthea Bystrom, Norway, one sister-in-law Signe Boger, Norway and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Ida in 2003, his parents Arild and Hanna, two brothers Olaf (Torbjorg), Bard and sister Helga (Olaf) Varli. His wife's parents Bertha and John Berg and several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at Birch Hills Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Sonja Finnestad officiating.
