1918 – 2013
It is with great sadness that our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away on September 30, 2013 at the age of 95. Amy was born in Rosetown, SK on July 18, 1918. She moved up to the P.A. area in 1935. She married in September 1942 to Phillip Hayes, and they lived in Prince Albert until their deaths. Amy is survived by her three children Sandra (Larry) Mullins of Calgary, AB, Robert (Linda) Hayes of Prince Albert, SK and Bill (Twyla) Hayes of Langham, SK; seven grandchildren Laura (Harold) Koenig, Sean Mullins, Scott (Staci) Hayes, Heather (Johann) Josephson, Ian Hayes, Matthew Hayes and Ryan Hayes; seven great grandchildren; her sister-cousin Patricia McEachern of Langley, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Amy was predeceased by her husband Phillip in 1992; her parents Violet and Claire Buchanan and her brothers Douglas and Alan Buchanan. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Calvary United Church, 114 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Refreshments to follow at the Church. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 65 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
