It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Early on the morning of October 20th, 2013, Claire passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. Claire was born on the 29th of April 1924 in Wakaw, SK. She was the fifth child of eight children, and the second daughter of the late Marie (Ethier) and the late Jean Pierre Joseph Bremner. Claire was raised on a farm east of Domremy, SK. On the 10th of May in 1943 Claire married George Rock and together, they had four children, Janice, Patricia, Bob and Brian. Claire worked in Accounting & Bookkeeping for CKBI Radio and was a loyal employee from 1954 until her retirement. Prior to that Claire worked at Simpson Sears in Accounting. She was a Toastmistress member and an active member in her church community. Claire loved to cook and serve visitors her always delicious cuisine. Some of Claire’s greatest enjoyments in life consisted of making a huge feast on New Year’s Day for her many relatives and, could always be counted on to lend her clear, rich voice to a variety of treasured French songs. Above all, she had a passion for her children who were her primary focus throughout her life. Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are her loving family, two daughters, Janice Jorgenson, White Rock, BC, and Patricia (Brian) Austin, Medicine Hat, AB; two sons, Bob Rock (Catherine McCulloch), Medicine Hat, AB, and Brian (Chris) Rock, Prince Albert, SK; five grandchildren: Joelle (Andre) Beaulieu, Vancouver, BC, and their son, Braedon, Shannon (Paul) Kramer, Fernie, BC, and their children Dylan, Austin and Noah, Jay Jorgenson, White Rock, BC, and Mark (Stacey Cupples) Austin, Elkford,BC, and their son Peyton, Lindsey Rock, Prince Albert SK; two brothers, Roland (Alice) Bremner, Domremy, SK and Philip (Jeanette) Bremner, Regina, SK; sisters-in-law, Hazel Bremner and Joan Bremner both of Prince Albert, SK; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; Claire was pre-deceased by George Rock, father of their children; her four brothers, Lawrence Bremner, who died in action in France, 1944, Raymond Bremner, Lionel Bremner and Greg (Rachel) Bremner; sister, Victoria (Albert) Thibeault and special friend Frank Rawlinson. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Travis Myrheim on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. and will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 260-25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Cremation will follow with Interment at 4:00 pm at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. The family extends appreciation to Dr. Rashid, Dr. Bensaleh, Father Fiolleau, Sister Renee and the staff of the Victoria Hospital. We will continue to be grateful for your kindness and compassionate care for our Mother. It is the family’s request that in lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9.
