Edmond “Ed” John Kent
June 2, 1933 – November 2, 2013
Ed Kent age 80 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 2, 2013. Ed was born June 2, 1933 in Hoey, SK. Ed moved to Prince Albert and met and married his wife Lorna (Strocklund) Kent on May 31, 1957. His second love was spending time at their cabin in Waskesiu Lake and going fishing in his boat. He always wanted his grandchildren to go fishing with him and to show them how you catch the big fish. He would always enter the fishing derby at Waskesiu and of course he won first place a few times for the biggest fish. Everyone in Waskesiu would ask him what fish hooks he used and where he was fishing at. People would always want to know when Ed was cleaning the fish as they wanted to watch him. Ed was very proud of all his grandchildren and spoiled them every time they were with grandpa and grandma. He made sure they had all the sweets and ice cream they wanted. Ed loved watching his grandchildren play hockey and soccer, of course his grandchildren were his best players. Ed is survived by his son Brian and his three children Clayton, Neil and Christopher; his daughter Jacqueline (Marcel) and their three children Mitchell, Pierce and Lorenzo; his sister Sylvia Bremer and his brothers Orvin (Adeline) Kent and Ken (Sharon) Kent. He was predeceased by his wife Lorna and his older brother Clem (Nancy) Kent. Ed loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. A Celebration of Ed’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Margaret Ferchuk officiating.
